YA Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt!

I’m Janna, your host on this leg of scavenging. IMG_0266I’m the YA author of the Grimm Tales series. I’m based in Colorado and love a good fairy tale. I’m married to a real life Prince Charming, and will usually admit to being mom of three (although I did want 7, that’s my lucky number), including my incorrigible middle child, Benny. If I’m not writing I’m doing therapeutic baking, dreaming of the ocean, or–of course–curling up with a good book.

This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to win some awesome prizes from your favorite authors! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Team Pink

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the PINK TEAM–but there is also a red team, a gold team, an orange team, a red team, and an indie team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

Directions: Somewhere in the post, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the pink team, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by April 5th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

 FIERCE by B.P. Parker
In the unusual town of Everest, the impossible exists. Once the bloodstream of everyone in the town shattered, supernatural powers began to flow through the people’s veins. It is up to Aria, Sebastian, and Serena to stop those powers from being controlled. Along the way they will unravel secrets within the deepest parts of magic.
A scene from the sequel, Shattered

The sun streams across the mystic ice-frosted trees, and the rustic charm of the city buildings of Everest. Even though there are barely any clouds in the sky, piercing cold snow begins cascading down on Aria. Five minutes later that brilliant clear-blue atmosphere slowly turns to gray. Every snowflake reflecting in the glistening sunlight in vivid detail against the translucent buildings.

Metallic green marks shined bright against the creature’s smooth yet rough translucent skin. Vast tentacles whirled around in dark-blue waves like a jelly fish as the spiked suction cups glowed in icy flames. The creatures fiery silvery-golden eyes shimmered as it’s lips curled into a soft smile that was slightly mischievous.

“You didn’t think I’d miss out on all the fun now, did you?”

I hope you’re having as much fun participating in YA Scavenger Hunt as I am hunting! 🙂 It’s great to see authors supporting and promoting each other. Way to build a community!

  3. Yay! A fellow Colorado author! Would love to connect some time.

Thanks so much for being a part of #YASH and for the bonus giveaways (though I was bummed to see that the bonus giveaways—especially the beta read one—ended before YASH was over).
